Question:
I have a 1991 Toyoya 4-Runner, right now I have 31/10.5 R15 tires. They need to be replaced, like now!. I just bought p235/75 R15 from a neighbor with a 4-Runner, uber cheap. Will the size difference help or hinder me? I drive mainly on standard roads/not offroad. Commuting to work, some highway.
Answers:
What are your experiances with the 1996 Nissan Altima STE?
They will actually help you from what you've described in driving conditions. The 235/75R15 are a 29X9 tire. The shorter stance of the tire will effectively lower your overall gearing making it a little easier on the motor to get the vehicle moving from a stop. Also the skinnier tire will decrease the rolling resistance of the tire as there is a smaller contact patch to the road and third the decreased weight of the tire will help a lot since the truck doesn't have to turn as much unsprung weight. Your truck should have come equipped with 235/75R15 from the factory, you can check the sticker in the door jamb to make sure of the factory tire size. If by chance you are supposed to run 31X10.50 you're speedometer will read faster than what you are really going but not by much.95 Jetta Radio doesn't go off?
