Question:
The panel control directs the air to the right vents as it should. But the air blowing out is always very hot, like the heater is on and set to high. What is the problem?

Where are Mercedez Benz manufactured?
If the air blowing out of the ventilation registers is very hot, regardless of temperature setting, I would verify the temperature blend door actuator is working. To access this part requires removing the passenger side lower instrument panel insulator, just below the glove box. There will be a small plastic white box with an electrical connector leading to it, secured to the heater box with three 7mm screws. This is the "motor" that moves the temperature blend door to the desired position, based on operator command. well i would definately try recharging your air conditioner they sell the recharge bottles at any auto store for around $25-$30.( IF taken to a shop it would be $100-$150) if not that then it could be the heater bypass valve allowing the hot air in.much luck with solving the problem hope this helpsWhat is the best way to pimp up a mini cooper?

First thing to do is to open the hood and with the engine running look at theac compressor pulley, the belt will be spinning it but is the center section of the pulley turning? That would indicate that the clutch is working and it is calling for the AC. If it isn't, then usually it is the low pressure switch holding it out and the system needs to be repaired (usually a bad seal) and then recharged. If you just add R-134a then you will have to do it at least every year. So do it once and do it right.
Bring it to a dealership and let them see if the blend door motor is bad... It's a electric motor that changes the actual door between the evaporator(cold) and the heater core (hot) .. if it goes out, it usually gets stuck on the last setting and apparently yours might have gotten stuck.
