Volvo 1996 850, No Fan?

Question:
About a month ago the fan system in my car started making a strange high pitch noise, kind of like a little thing screaming in pain, however during this time the fan was working perfectly. However, now the fan has all together stopped working, which in the dead of winter means I have a problem. Can anyone help me out?

sounds like your in need of a heater fan motor. The noise you were hearing is the bearing inside of the motor heating up and starting to seize. Now your at the end result of that.
