Question:
Returned a lease early, dealer said wait for payoff, they send me a bill for $9853.34 saying I "Voluntarily Repossesed" my own vehicle after only owing 2 payments of total $840. (Which I paid) Being totally shafted by GMAC LEASING!
Answers:
My guess about what happened is this: You lease a car for a specific period of time. If you need to get out of the lease GMAC takes the vehicle to auction. Your bill would be the difference between the residual and the price they got at auction, plus remaining payments.
I cant lock my car from the out side but from in side it works?
This has nothing to do with GMAC, the dealership or GM. This is a typical lease scenario.
What does for e.g V8 on a car mean? the number of cylinders?
If you returned it before the end of the lease period, it was a voluntary repossession. What would you call it? If you wanted to keep it until the end of the lease, you should have done so and it may have been less, depending of course on the miles you put on it and the condition it was in at return. Read what you signed in the beginning. Is there a penalty for early return? There usually is. That may explain the amount they are asking for now, the amount you agreed to on day oneSubaru will unveil "a legend reborn" on their website. Does anyone have an idea what it is?
Oklatom is right on track.Read your lease carefully they are very tricky, and turning your car in early is probally a breach of contract. Unfortunatly they may be right. I went through a similar situation.and was able to talk them down but it will screw your credit up. GOOD LUCK.How do you know if your water pump is bad?
I don't know who Greenbrook GMC is or where they are located, but they did nothing to you. You did it to yourself!First off, the dealer is not the lease holder. When you decided to lease the car, Greenbrook sold the car to GMAC who leased it to you. You sign a contract to lease the vehicle for a specified period of time for a specified payment amount and a limitation on the mileage you may put on the vehicle over the terms of the lease.
You violated the terms of the contract and left the leaseholder holding the bag.
What did you expect? You just take the use and value out of a vehicle and decide "I quit", return the vehicle and not have any consequences?
GROW UP AND HONOR THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT YOU SIGNED AND QUIT TRYING TO SCREW THE LEASEHOLDER
Brain Damage!
