Many reasons for me. I picked up my E55 because after test driving the beast, it left me with a 2 day erection. It was the best of all worlds to me. Quiet, comfortable, every amenity you could want, decent handling(for a 2 ton pig) and quite fast. Of course part of it is the social status. I bought it because I could, but it is my daily driver and I treat it like a car, not like some ornament or accessory. I don't think I get snooty over it. I take compliments to it quite well and rarely look down my nose at other cars, aside from the morons in Hondas with huge exhausts and park bench wings that try to race me all the time.How is the performance of the 2007 Lexus ES 350 in the Snow?

The truth is, I,like most repeat Mercedes buyers, like the total quality package, including service. Economy? My E320 CDI really gets 37MPG Highway/27MPG City mileage, and is a 4000lb luxury car. Look it up!
Mercedes, like other high-end manufacturers, have taken some "hits" on quality occaisionally, but I have had no problems with my 2005 or 2007 CDI's. Go figger!

both me and my dad use mercedes 02 c240 and 02 E220 mainly due to its relaiability, of course cannot take away the class it posses. although maintain is high it dosent let you down unlike the bmw,and the otherthing is mercs r tropicalized than other european vehicles so you can use it anywhere in the world with hassle free.I do because I was born in Stuttgart. My Mother was German.

I bought an '83 S-class 8.5 years ago because my even older Toyota was getting tired. Despite the fact that the MB was then 16 years old, I drove it 850km (530 miles) the next day and it gave no sign of trouble. There were no rattles or squeaks in the interior and it returned the same fuel economy on the highway as the handbook advised. The difference from the Toyota was remarkable and I suddenly realised that I had a really good car. You have to drive them to realise.
I still have it. There is an intermittent rattle near the left rear window which is my fault but the fuel economy has remained the same. The interior is showing minor signs of wear. I have had numerous repairs done, some more expensive than others. These have included a new radiator, new tie rod end, and replacement fuel distributor, set of air-con switches and ABS "computer" all from a wreck. Total on parts over 8.5 years just over $2000. I guess labor added to a little more. So perhaps $5000. Not as good a run as I could have hoped but still only around $590 a year, apart from tyres and batteries.
I would be happy to drive it 1600km tomorrow.
