The A-727 behind a slant six can only be replaced by another from a slant six. The 727 was replaced with 904 and 999 at some point, and I don't believe a 727 was an option in '85. My '83 repair manual only lists 904 and 999. You would have to find one from an older model, or get the internal parts and rebuilt yours to 727 specs. Lots of work and probably not worth it.
