i own a shop,and either a 2.8 or a 3.1 will fit it,but no one wants to fall back to a 2.8 ,but that's all that will fit in it, and on years you can go all way up to a 99 model on it this i know for sure ,and it may go newer ,i replaced one with a 99 model before,good luck with it hope this helps.
