2.5 v6 mondeo in a mk4 escort cabby?engine swap?

Question:
will it fit?? mixed opinions from engineers some say it will some say it wont? i think ill have to convert it to rear wheel drive with the aid of a custom prop and a rwd cossy gearbox but not sure what else would need doing anyone help? or anyone know if its been done before?

There used to be a company that sold Mk4 Escort body's ready to accept Capri and Sierra running gear (Quantum I think?). Check Performance Ford and Fast Ford magazines.
The V6 won't fit in transversely, so it will need to be adapted, which is a lot of work if you don't already know about what it takes, including major bodywork/floor pan alterations.

Any engine will fit in any car with enough time and money. If it's originally a rear wheel drive engine it will have to be rear wheel in any conversion. Why not go for an escort cossy engine in the first place?

Sounds fun! Both cars are transverse engine/fwd so it should be possible to lift the whole drivetrain out the Mondeo & drop it in. It'll be a doddle, trust me! If you want more oomph from your Escort though, tuning it & fitting a turbo would be a lot easier.
