this means that after a shift the transmission computer saw input and output speeds that were not in the expected range [possible failures include the input and output sensors the transmission position switch(aka park-neutral switch) faulty torque converter failing clutches and poor quality fluid (burnt up) and improper fluid level (leaks from torque converter seal are common).if trans gets a clean bill of health electronically try changing fluid don't forget to flush out the converter [remove cooler line from radiator and start engine keep adding fluid until clean fluid runs out of cooler line then shut off re connect line and top off fluid to correct level] this has worked numerous times but any and all electronic faults must be remedied first. good luck
