The window was down and the door was shut rather hard, then it wouldnt come up and it sounds like grinding? Did closing the door hard contribute to this being broken - or breaking the window inside the door? I would expect more from a car but I noticed the door was closed quite hard? Just wondering if it was already on the verge of breaking or if it was the door or combo and has this happened to anyone else? I'm trading it in if anyone would like to buy it - I give up! :)

If you hear a grinding noise, then its most likely that the coils in the window motor are bad. If this is the case then you need to have a new window motor installed. Also, until you find out what the problem is, you probably shouldn't use that particular window's up and down button, otherwise you might damage the window regulator(if its not already damaged).More Questions & Answers ...
