Definately a much cheaper solution.
you will need the ecu from the car that matches the key, the exact one. otherwise the PAS system will play hell and imobilse your car.
I'm not sure to be honest on the old escorts,
Normally a transponder receiver needs to be matched to the cars ecu, they come as a set when you order direct. but this may not be the case for the older escort models.
If it does work id imagine youd have problems getting new keys made, as the transponder code for your new keys will be different to what the ecu says it should be. so if you go for it, make sure you get enough keys for your needs with it..
Where I can find Mahindra auto parts stores in Balkan’s countries?
if it were me id get an old barrel and take it to a competent locksmith, the locks aren't that hard to disassemble, and any good locky can put in new pins to match your existing key.
got to be easier then removing all the passenger door cars etc and the ignition setup.
Where can I find performance parts for a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix?
Why would you do this? You are opening a whole can of worms. It would make more sence to just get a single door lock even from a wreck, take it and your key to a local locksmith and have him code the lock to your existing key. This should cost about 1 hours labor or abour 80-120 depending on where you are.if you get the new barrel for the ignition (from scrappy for about £30.00), to save getting hold of a key, tape the old key to the ignition so the sensors are near eachother- you can then put any key into the ignition.
