JETTA OR AN ALTUMA? what's better?
Hi Bud, It's me, Robert again. I think that the 2nd and 3rd links beow will be most helpful. You can also call the folks at Redline Weber. In past years they were helpful to me. I think that your problem might be the vapor cannister thingy. Don't worry, I didn't have one. I think that you just need to block off that port.Don't give up man! This is an awesome carb. I believe that you have a 32/36 DGAV, as that's the most common to put on a Jeep. The 38 DGAS is the real MFer, which will give you super high performance, but suck the gas like a V8. The progressive design is the best option for it's progressive design. The 38 operates both barrels at the same time as opposed to being progressive like the 32/36. If none of the installation diagrams help, or you hook the baby up to an exhaust analyzer and it's running real rich with no room to adjust, order a jet kit from Redline, but a quick fix is to put a bent paper clip in each jet to reduce the volume of the spray. Sounds cheesy, but it works great for a quick fix till you get the jet kit. All for now....RR
