Question:
Is this normal. Is there any way to lower the rpm by adding any performance parts in such?

Part II: 2001 Ford F-150 Supercab 4.6 liter questions?
It's perfectly normal for '91. And don't look for the OD switch like somebody suggested - Honda doesn't have one. Toyota does.My Chevy S-10 has an exhaust baffle that clatters when my engine is cold. How can I fix this? Cost?
Please specify gearbox. You may need to get it serviced(the gearbox). Also make sure the overdrive switch is on if its an Auto, this wheel unlock 4th gear.Only way to reduce RPMs is to change gear ratios.
is it automatic or manual? I dont kno what parts to buy but no it is not normal. the gear should shift automatically if the car is auto at 3000 RPM.
For the typical car 3,000 rpm is usually the recommended top sustainable speed for a engine and where a gear will shift for automatics. I don't know about hondas but usually a 6 cylinder should be about 2400 rpm at 75 and a 4 cylinder like 2800 rpm or somethin.
What engines will swap with a B5 Volkswagen Passat?
If that's the 4 cylinder that's normal for that speed and if it's a 16 year old 4 cylinder you should be backing off or you'll ruin that engine. Hope you're at least running synthetic oil of proper grade.1996 Collector Edition Corvette?
yes it is normal. the only way to change it is to change gear ratios or S L O W I N G D O W N! your car will get better gas mileage and you won't get pulled over for speeding. c'mon people this isn't rocket surgery!2006 Lincoln Navigator CD Player ??
your final ratio determines your final engine RPM for the given set speed. There is no way to decrease the engine rpm for anything lower, unless u change the final drive ratio.i have a question on a 2003 lancer oz rally car...?
PS: Final drive ratio is the ring and pinion ratio of the differential. So in a sense you need to get a new diff with the proper ratio. If i am not mistaken, your 4th gen accord has a final drive ratio of 4.066 (not sure)
Yes it should be normal.. I had a 1991 Honda Prelude 2.0 Si with 5 Speed manual transmission and when I cruise on freeway at about 80 MPH (in 5th gear, of course), the RPM would stay somewhere between 3000 and 3500, and when I go up about 90, 95, it would rev up to almost 4000 RPM.. but that's what I like about Acura and Honda.. that surge of power you get from DOHC 16 valve 4 cylinder high RPM engine.. VROOOOOM!
