Question:
I drove 20 minutes along a deserted dual carriageway alongside the Firth of Forth. Pale blue skies, flocks of swans flying over, music on the stereo.
Arrived at the railway station, one of my train buddies had bought me coffee already. 11 minutes on the train with my pals, then a short walk through central Edinburgh to my office, arrived feeling relaxed and happy.
I love commuting! Does anyone else or am I just a bit strange?

How come drivers in Wa state don't have any freeway etiquette?
I like the theme of your questions Nev, I'm lucky I dont have to commute really, I get up, have breakfast, shower etc, see the kids off to school and then stroll down to my office, which is a converted stable block at the bottom of my garden. I even get to go home for lunch. Enjoy the rest of your day and have a safe trip home. Why do you only cut in line when driving?
done the school run, walking there and back boring reallyterrible, i had to drag myself out of bed.

HOW MUCH TIME WULD IT TAKE FROM NORWALk TO RIVERSIDE ON A BIKE?I REALY NEED THIS ANSWERED?
Day off!
I walk for 15-20 minutes from my house to work.
All I can say is, "you lucky so and so". My commute used to be really good. Early morning sun rises with quiet country roads, music on the radio and a lovely smell in the air. Now they consist of stuck in heavy traffic, miserable faces and lots of rain because I moved to flipping London. I hate it.
what do you call a gal who misses ten car payments?
I live about 5 minutes away from my work.. so i drove myself with a smoke in my handDon't you guys hate it when you signal to change lanes and noone lets you in?
SSDD - heavy traffic idiotic fools in every car, including mine...Can you drive in the car-pool lane if your only passenger is your dog?
today was good - it is my day offPretty bad in terms of the transport system: sometimes trains too full to take you, and regular congestion on the M1 (Leeds to Sheffield). What you need when the going gets tough is a travel buddy, I've got one for now and it helps with the trauma. Ah for the open roads of Scotland!
how can freeways detect how congested the freeway is? just wondering...?
I think you are a bit strange! Saying that however, your journey doesn't seem that unpleasant. Try it in London!!How do they determine on which corners of intersections to put street-name signs.?
Personally I'm lucky enough to be able to walk to work, as I live locally. This gives me the time and space to appreciate a bit of peace and quiet before the day begins in earnest!
Try to get out of the estate but stuck for five minutes at junction blocked by inconsiderate people who think that leaving it clear is going to cause them heavy delays. Eventually get to turn right, laughing at the people queued in the opposite direction but have to avoid the motorbikes who think it is their god given right to drive in my lane. Negotiate 5 roundabouts which always seem to be inhabited by people who don't know how it works. Stopped three times by lollypop ladies who keep you waiting for someone who takes ages to get to cross the road, then up the hill on the final stretch to work with the sun in my eyes, hoping I don't hit anything in front of me. Great fun.
How many miles of road are in the USA?
I have a 5 minute walk, a 10 train journey and a 10 minute tube journey. I was listening to the new Damien Rice album and reading the paper. It's all so impersonal and no-one talks, it's not great, but it's London, that's why! What are the pros and cons of tailgating another vehicle?
Should not be a problem... its just the clowns I have to deal with when I do get to work....everyone should be so lucky...Took me about 18 minutes to walk to work. Looked at trees, flowers, birds, buildings, some blokes unloading steel from a truck and a mobile crane coming up the street. Terrible. If I'd been on my cycle it might have taken 8 minutes. By car takes 23 minutes. Yes, it's actually slower by car and I have to pay to park. Stuff that.
what is the speed limit on a interstate highway?

I had to walk a whole 20 feet from our bedroom down to my office. It's nice to work from homeNot too bad, though despite being hungry the cat just kinda moseyed along in front of me all the way down the hall.
Hi Nev,
what will be the best way commute from new delhi airport to Allahabad/Pratapgarh?
I get about, so being a dirty-stop-out involves finding your way to work from lots of new locations. It's a great way to get to know the city (London).
This morning I awoke dazed and fuzzy in Sydenham, South London. I had a nice 5 minute walk to the overground, then a pleasant 15 minute trip to London Bridge where I hopped on the not-to-busy Jubilee line to Baker Street and my workplace. Lovely.

12 min drive through picturesque woods. One time I found myself mumbling about all the traffic that particular day, then I realized I had only encountered 3 other vehicles! ...then I laughed and remembered how fortunate I was.
