Serious problem with parking?

Question:
We just moved into a stupid gated community but our driveway only fits 2 cars. So, my parents park their cars on it. But there is a stupid rule where you arent allowed to park on the street overnight, so I have to park like half a mile away on another street outside of the community, and every time I want to go somewhere, I have to walk 7 minutes to my car. It gets real annoying, and I am wondering if someone can help me figure out a solution to my problem.

To shed a little light on the situation, the community has a rule about no parking on the street to increase the aesthetic value of the community. For instance, cars parking overnight on the street can allow for some cars to never move at all, i.e. junk cars. This at least insures that all cars run or it seriously inconveniences those with non-running cars. Also, it means that folks actually clean out their garages (the new storage bin for America) and park within them when they have more than 2 cars. Folks are merely keeping their property values high by removing ugly sights. I'm sure the community has similar rules about paint colors for exterior of homes, the construction and location of jungle gyms (I've seen them specify the colors and materials which may be used), and other external things. I'm pretty sure no one is allowed to have a metal building on their lot, such as a metal carport or a metal storage shed. It's a common rule.

When should we use what?

Can you, instead of looking at the 7 minute walk as a pain, look at this as an opportunity to do something worthwhile during that tie. The bicycle is a great idea. However, no need to get so fancy. Change clothes at work to workout clothes, carry your belongings in a backback, and go for a jog for 10 minutes each day (lengthen the trip by parking fartehr away or simply circling around on additional streets). I would also invest in an Ipod or similar mp3 player, to listen to an audiobook (you can download them off the internet now) or a podcast. I am learning Italian as I drive to work, so it's just the start of something fun. You could get rolller blades for the trip to work (you won't get so sweaty) and the jog for returning home ... it's just a matter of seeing this from another perspective. You can get mad (and waste all those endorphins) or you can accept what you can't change and adapt, by making it your own. Me, I would adapt ... have a great day!

why do u drive in a parkway and park in a driveway??

Don't they (your parents) have a garage? Can't they park there? I would find it strange for someone living in a gated community to not have a garage. If they don't, build a garage and get your parents to park in it so you can park in the driveway.

Why does the HOV lane symbol on the I-5 near Seattle changes from 2+ people to just 2?

Your parents get first dibs on the parking spots in their driveway, since it's their house. You could ask if any of your neighbours have a parking spot in their driveway that you could use or rent. Other than that, get used to walking.

And the rule is only stupid because you don't like it.

can you find my a map of where the canadian sheild gose?

Edit: I never minded walking. I had a job that I had to walk three miles to every day, and then be on my feet the rest of the day except for breaks. I had a girlfriend that lived two miles away from me who I would walk to visit two days a week. Every school I attended I lived at least a mile away from and there was never any bus service to them until my senior year. And I walked to all of them. Walking for 7 minutes is easy.

How to send a parcel from London (U.K.) to Riga (Latvia) by sea-over land?

And when I was a kid I delivered papers in all types of weather and it took me an hour to deliver them, so 7 minutes in the cold is nothing. Why don't you run to your car, then you'll only be out in the cold for 4-5 minutes? Hopefully you won't have to endure any real hardships in life if you find this parking problem to be such a difficulty.

why would there be a handicap parking space in a parking lot that was located 1/4 mile away from the building?

And there is a reason why they don't allow parking on the street, so why don't you learn what it is? You consider the rule stupid because you can't park on the street, not because you disagree with the reasoning behind it or because the reasoning behind it is stupid. Ergo, the rule is only stupid because you don't like it.

Just deal with it. Stay out longer when you have your car. Or when your car is parked, don't be so quick to get your car for every little thing. Be more efficient so you don't have to spend so much time walking to and fro'.
