I just finished up my degree down there...I've never really seen traffic too bad on 52. During rush hour 26 between River Road and 52 can get a bit nasty as its the main artery through the area. Depending on where you're trying to get to/from and when, some good alternatives would be Creasy Lane, Rt. 231, or Teal Rd during rush hour. Otherwise, stick to 52 and 26...just watch out for the erratic lane shifts on 26!
Why do so many people act so rude on the highways?.?
Lafayette is just an over sized small town. It can get confusing though. The Wabash River cuts right through town. There is only so many places to cross the river.
