Why do they advertize gasoline prices with a .9 on the price per gal. Ex ... Unleaded gas $2.99.9 a gal...
why not just say $3.oo per gal....

When a retailer tells you the the price is $29.99 it SOUNDS better than that the price is $30.00. This is not REALLY misleading but rather good marketing.

While this is a little misleading, it is actually making you check the information carefully and sometimes hoping you don't. This is especially true for rebates as they generally have requirements for you to follow (IE time limited).
