How long does it take to cross the Golden Gate Bridge to get to San Francisco during rush hours?

Question:
I want to live in Sausalito and commute to Vanness Ave and Post St. in San Francisco for work. Not sure how the commute will be like...

Answers:

What high-performance car has "good" gas mileage?

So you are looking at a commute of 10-15 miles. The Golden Gate Bridge is almost one-mile in length. Most metro areas experience longer and longer rush hours. In the morning, rush hour may last from 6.00am to 9.30am. For the ride home traffic begins to spike at 3.00-3.30 and can last well past 6.00pm. Worst case scenario is that it takes you 45 minutes, which means that if you have to travel 15 miles, you will be going an average of 30 miles per hour. Which parts of the German autobahn network have no speed limit?

The best I can tell you is that it is dependant upon the times that you will be crossing. Typical communting hours, say, 6:30-8:30 am and around 4-7 pm, it's going to make you pull your hair out and seriously wonder if the Amish have it all figured out. Outside peak times (and don't forget tourist season) it won't be so bad - 20 minutes maybe.
