Speed cameras are a pain, as you can see by my post about being caught, someone did say there are speeders and there are SPEEDERS, doing an extra 14mph on an empty straight road at 6.40am is not justified. Speed cameras have an allowance of about 7 mph, thats 7mphs I was doing more to get my picture taken christmas morning. Some people should drive 14 miles an hour to see how slow that really is, Id run faster, maybe next time I will, lol. Still there are many loopholes in the system which I know of , so i know i will get off with the warning. As for the money and where it goes, who knows, certainly not going back on funding road improvements and dont get me wrong, speeding i disagree with, if i was doing 60 plus on that road, id gladly hold my hands upDon't you guys hate it when you signal to change lanes and noone lets you in?
welll i wud say both really sumtimes there is a need of speed cameras but in sum places there are occasions when they are there when really shudnt be.it saves lives by restraining drivers frm speeding but sumtimes accidents happen bcoz drivers spend half their concentration on speed cams rather than on the car.!

I honestly believe that speed cameras are a waste of time the only thing they do well is make money for the government which never gets back into the area it was taken from. Also people see a speed camera as they come round the corner and slam the brakes on without looking behind them, it happened to me i was riding my motor bike below the speed limit and the person infront slammed the brakes on, next thing i know about it is when i wake up in hospital. I say down with speed cameras and get more police patrols out on the roadswhat is the differnce between a highway, freeway and expressway?

Personally I'm all in favour of them. The more the better. There are far too many motorists out there who think that laws don't apply to them - only to other people. To hear them bleat and whine you'd think that the govenment had installed cameras in their bedroom. Well they haven't - they have merely found a clever way of automatically supervising the observation of the LAW. It's much cheaper than having a policeman at every place the cameras are sited - and fairer too. If people don't want to pay a fine they don't have to speed do they? Or is it that the law doesn't apply to them?I do have some sympathy with the person above who came off their bike when the car in front braked suddenly on seeing a camera - but would they not have done the same if they had seen a police car?

i think speed cameras are tony blars way of making ££££if you want to have a drag race down a road which has a speed camera wrap it up with cling film before the race so when the camera takes a pic then the number plate will look blured and you will be let off the ticket. if you go to cort over the ticket then give the judge £20 and you will win the case
