Yes I completely agree,I hate all suv/pick up drivers.They are all parasites on society,fuelling the extinction of oil.They all drive up my ***,so I stick to the speed limit or less.I also like to slam my brakes on and drop 10/15mph if they get too close.It gives me great pleasure to watch them until they sip their coffee,from my rearview,before I slam my Brakes On,whilst blaring my horn.They always ruin their clothes,hope you will try this.You would think that my Bumper Sticker would give them fair warning..I BRAKE BECAUSE I AM A REDNECK.Can a car get 100 MPG in gas milage?
i drive a suv and a truck and i do use them to haul stuff and i dont drive like a maniac, there are more accidents in small cars than suv's.I agree. It's a waste of a great piece of hardware. I've owned a series of pick-up trucks since 1984 because I live in the suburbs and needed them for the side work that I used to do, for getting to work and back when we get a good amount of snow, for camping and transporting my ATV's, and for general hauling or towing whenever I could make a buck.

That's why I refuse to buy a car, I can't make money with them. But people like you have described probably buy them for status, safety, and the height advantage in parking lots and traffic. But I don't see any real need for them in the city.

The statistics I've seen say that in accidents SUV's do perform better (of course they do, they're bigger!), small cars are more likely to get out of the accident in the first place (more maneuverable).If you haul stuff in your truck or SUV, I have no problems with you. My family had 6 kids and when my Dad bought a Suburban, it was a godsend (even better than the minivan!) But if you have no reason to drive something that big, why?
