Is it impolite to ask your neighbor or co-worker to drive you?

Question:
I was just wondering about this alternative to riding with my parents to work. They seem to believe my asking someone else would not be fair because of different schedules and routes, and this would occur twice almost every day. This is not an emergency, though my parents would feel they have the right to ask these people anytime. I live with my parents in the suburbs, so there are no bus stops or offices within walking distance. A taxi twice every weekday would be expensive. I do not know how to drive. Are my parents right?

Answers:

Do you ever drive just for the sake of it?

Carpooling is very big in Cal. In the S.F. area for instance,
cars with 3 or more passengers get their own fast lane.
Just tell your neighbors you would like to carpool with some
of them going your way. You pay your portion of the gas...
they drive (or sometimes switch drivers and cars). You MUST
be at a designated place at the proper time. They can't wait
on you.

Do the same at work, which would be better because you
end up and leave from the same place of business. I believe
people are very open to carpooling and sharing rides.
Please don't have any bad habits like eating breakfast
or spilling coffee, or other personal things in the car.

will anyone carpool with me?

Just pay them like 4 dollars a day to take you, then they would be happy about it!

In driving, can you enter to turn right in a yellow box junction if your exit is blocked?

Offer cash or beers.

Why do people drive so crazy?

I think a lot of companies out there encourages their workers to carpool, because this will not only reduce traffic jam, but also everyone will be at work on time. Of course the ride won't be free, because, everyone who agrees to carpool will get a duty roster probably, to drive the rest of the workmates. It's only fair. Other than that, you can pay the person a fee everytime you ride in their car.

public transport?

tell mom & dad to get you a class/ then you'll get a car w/ the money you make @ the job you walk to everyday. happy trails.

What is making my car scream at me when I start it? I live in Michigan, and we have some very cold mornings.?

I think that if you asked around and found a co-worker that possibly lives close to you. Then they might be up for it if you pay for half the gas maybe. I know my hubby used to carpool and one week he would drive the next the friend would and vice versa. But since you dont drive maybe you pay for gas every other week or something.

help! i need a limo?

Ask around politely or post a notice on a bulletin board or wherever everyone will see it. Pay your share in gas money.

What are the pros and cons of tailgating another vehicle?

Asking a co-worker is definitely not impolite, ask around to find out who might live close by and ask if they would be willing to do it (again, offering to help pay for gas). Be prepared for some to say no,and don't get mad if/when they do, it is their right to say no if they don't want to do it.

Why do they give so many idiots drivers licenses?

Personally, I would feel more comfortable asking a co-worker rather than a neighbor for rides to work simply because you know a co-worker is going to the same destination. I would consider asking a neighbor impolite unless I knew they traveled close to where I worked at nearly the same time as I needed to be there. If it was a one-time deal, it would not be impolite to ask a neighbor, but an every day thing I would ask co-workers.

is there a way to map out the quickest route to 20 places you have to go to in a day on the internet?

I know were you are coming from it's embarrassing if you ask your friends for a ride home.If you have somebody that goes the same way you do.Ask them if they don't mined to take you home. Then you can maybe give them about $10.00 every two weeks.I don't think they would mined until you get your listens.
