Being from Belgium, I live in a country where 3 languages are spoken: Dutch, French and German. We have similar political issues as in Canada, though the French and German speaking Belgians tend to be less extremist.

I live in Flanders, the part where they speak Dutch. My dad comes from a French speaking background. So I call myself a Belgian! For your information, I'd be suspicious about license plates or bumper stickers like the one you mention! Are you sure those are legitimate Canadian plates? I'd go for the political issue here too!

Some people over here put a 'VL' sign on there license plates, standing for Flanders. The 'VL' is not officially recognized. I'm the proud owner of a license plate that says 'B' for Belgium!
