When im driving and i switch to neutral do i save gas?

Because sometimes im going down hill for about half a while so i switch to neutral and just hover over my break. Or sometime im at a stop light for about 20 seconds and i switch over then switch back when i need to go... Any pro's or cons?

Coasting is never recommended as it can lead to excessive speeds and loss of control. It is ILLEGAL in some states.
Also, it causes brakes to wear out sooner. Gas is easier to replace than brakes.

yes you can save petrol, consumer magazine reccomends to shift in to neutral at lights etc, however i dont think coasting downhill in neutral is safe driving
