What do you think about this scenario?

Question:
What would you do if you were on your way to work in the morning and traffic was almost at a standstill due to a disabled truck?. After one half hour later on, you got onto a bridge where traffic was at a standstill for another half hour due to an accident and emergency vehicles parked there. You call work to say you'll be late and don't know for how long. Fifteen minutes later, you call work to leave a voicemail to say you've decided to take the day off. Even though you knew that sitting in traffic is not really a good excuse to take the day off, would you feel guilty about it for the rest of the day, or consider it just a fact of life and "stuff happens"?

Answers:

how much gas money do u think it will cost to drive from sacramento to mexico? i have a gas saver vehicle.?

It's a fact of life and things happen. Stop feeling guilty and enjoy your day off. I hope you have sick or personal time to cover those hours that you missed though!

In London, when ever a tube breaks down, there seems to be a signal failure. what is a signal failuer?

I don't think you should feel guilty about it because being in traffic can cause you to get very irritated and frustrated and you will find yourself taking it out on innocent people...So in my opinion I would say you did the right thing to take the day off and relieve some stress and some of that pressure you built up while sitting in traffic instead of going in and making everyone day go bad. Reserve the day especially for you!:)

got a fine for driving in a bus lane i can i get away withit?

If a person wants to keep their job then they should do everything possible to get there. Bosses should understand about traffic and accidents and being late because of them but to call in and say that you're not coming into work at all because of it is just irresponsible.

should petrol be more expensive?

Looks to me like you are a poor employee with hardly any capabilities to organize your day . You should be canned on the spot , not because you had bad luck, but because you cave in under pressure and are selfish . How about your job that somebody else probably has to pick up on . You should have gone to work and stayed late to make up for the time you weren't in attendance in the morning . You'll never get ahead in life if you don't mend your ways .
No, 'stuff does NOT just happen' ; We all contribute to it one way or another . Figure out how you can make an outcome better and
benefit by it .

what is the travel time to commute from staten island to nyc and what is the safest methods of travel?

That was a really bad decision on your part. We live in a high -tech world. Most info is easily verifiable. You tell your boss you're stuck in traffic in such and such a location, he knows that's how you get to work , he checks traffic on the web and your story checks out . It happens. By you not showing up at work it means that whatever it is that you do will have to be done by someone else and that's irresponsible on your part.
