Why do some people place obituaries on the rear window of their cars?

I think it is a pretty odd place to place an obituary. Who really cares to know? Do they expect sympathy or something?

its just in memery of a loved one, or some one that they care about i know a lot of my friends that served with me in Iraq will put there friends that didnt come home on there car, and some of the spouses will too. dont knock it untill you loose someone close to you........
