How long would it take to learn how to drive?

Question:
I'm 31 yo and have never, ever driven. I need to learn quick as I will be in nursing school in August and it will be a major pain trying to get around using public transportation (think 2.5 hrs one way!). Is three months enough time to learn and get comfortable with freeways? Remember, I have never even started a car.

To be good enough to pass the drivers test. Just depends if you have the skill for it. Some people never get it. You will know pretty quick when you start if you will be any good at it. As someone else stated here you will always be learning but plan about three months to be good enough to pass the tests.

When does the cell phone head set law in California start?

It takes some people a lifetime to learn how to drive... the biggest factors are how closely you pay attention, hand-eye coordination and willingness to accept instruction/criticism. If you are confident in your ability to learn and keep composed under stressful conditions... which the freeway can be when you are new, then I think you will be fine and get the hang of it. Its really just a matter of practice. I wouldn't call myself an expert driver after 3 months, but you should be able to get around safely and effectively. Good Luck and research driving schools before you commit to any one of them.
