Every school in my area already has buses ferry their pupils between home and school - they have done for years (well ever since the 1970's). It's just the pupils who live a couple of streets (or closer) away who are brought to school in cars driven by their parents.Do the New York State Police use Laser to detect speed?

Schools in my area (UK) have contracted coaches to take children home to outlying villages. How many gallons are in a tank of gas?
True, but the reason is that they don't have any money for that kind of thing. They barely have the money for anything. My local high school has one. I think it's all just down to there budget and access for pupils.
I live in a very rural community, so i think they receive a grant to run one.

becuase british schools come under an individual local authority and that would mean extra expense which would take a large chunk form the education budget nice idea but no authority would go for itWell where I used to live when I was in school you had to pass a stupid test and live within a certain distance to the school otherwise you weren't allowed in. This was in London by the way so that's why I never needed one because all the kids that went had to be local or lying about their address which would make them illegible so we never needed one only lazy parents who can't be bothered to walk the kids need to drive and boy there are too many of them.
Is there any where in NYC i get car/cab service but at a unlimited monthly rate?

The British live on an island where vitually everything must be imported and they never lost sight of the fact that children can walk. Some may ride with reason. The social engineering effects seen in the USA from school bus use for general population is sobering. The good news is, like the Soviets, they have about reached the end of their spending spree. The contraction will be interesting to watch.
Many schools do and kids are bussed in from other towns and villages. You have to pay and it is quite expensive. Unless of course, you go to a faith school, in which case, some are free. (Nonsense, in my opinion. Your choice, you pay up!)
Our school has lots of little busses which buzz around the town. It does cost, though. The trouble is that some of the kids are particularly naughty and badly behaved and then the bus companies refuse to do the routes anymore. Rather than discipline the naughty kids, every pays for their lack of discipline. It is a pity.
I'd like to do away with parental choice and encourage parents to send their kids to the local schools. It is much more environmentally friendly, more coummunity friendly and better for the schools.
