drive 55 mph on the highway, 30 mph in town. 55mph is much better fuel economy than 65 mph where the wind resistance takes effect. cars are also engineered to operate at this speed range so this is where you will see the best performance in terms of fuel economy.Has anyone actually seen a cruncy nut lane?

what is the differnce between a highway, freeway and expressway?
keep the car in tune, tires properly inflated, front end balanced. repair any mechanical errors. you want the car running exactly as it was engineered to do, and it will give you back the same performance and fuel economy. if you see a "check engine" light then go to the auto parts store and have them pull th code and sell you the part you need to change. just a bad sensor can throw off your fuel economy.

drive a smaller car. small four cylinders are much more efficient even than the same car with a 6 cylinder. and with a manual transmission, you don't lose the performance.

Keeping the car tuned is a big one.But on is don't drive too fast if you know your just going to stop at a light. For example if you see a red light ahead just like cruise slowly up to it because stopping and starting used a lot of gas. So slow down when comming to the light then hopefully when you get to the light it turns green. Drive slow up to stop signs cause ur gonn ahave to stop anyways.

how does one drive a stick shifted car?
Driving 55 is NOT a good answer. Don't accelerate too hard or break hard. Keep the car tuned, oil changed and filters changed regularly. Keep it as efficient as it can be by keeping maintenance up. Don't bother with the hybrids, they use energy in different ways, but use as much fuel as anything.
