If I am doin 70 and the car in front of me is not I may get close at first then slow down to a respectable difference, give the person a few moments to move over (as long as the other lane is clear) But please don't sit there. When a car comes up behind you, be courteous and let them pass. Then you are not aggravated by being tailgated and flashed, they are not aggravated by being forced to slow down and make a move around. Everyone is happy and life goes on.
How do I speed time up so I can leave work sooner?
As for me, I travel to and from work on a two lane highway, the Parkway in CT. Beautiful road with lots of twisties to make a fun excursion on. But I am forced to pass on the right on so many occassions. And if I am passing you on the right because you are doing 50 and me 70, there is no reason for you to speed up to 72 just to keep me behind you then slow back down again. This does not teach anyone a lesson, only makes the person behind you angrier.
And pissing people off is not right. Who knows who the person is, or what is in their glove box. You could be pissing off an off duty cop or his wife or some guy who was just canned at the office and now you have become his target for road rage. They don't leave you alone, they would rather follow you back to your house then keep going with traffic. Now you have a problem...

In Germany I love their driving laws:
1) Pedestrians do not have the right of way in Germany, if they are hit in a crosswalk it is because they were not looking. The road is for cars!

Just like the Audobahn (granted the speeds are great!) but in some areas there is no speed limit so you can being doing 100mph in the left lane to pass a lorry when you must get over because a Porsche is coming up at you at 110mph. I SO AGREE.......the law states that the right lane is for regular driving and the left lane is for passing. The only time a car should even be in the left lane is if they are passing another car. I usually ride their bumper and give them a dirty look when I finally pass. Its always these people who think they are "god's gift" and who are above the law. Like you said, what your doing might be illegal but technically riding in the passing lane is illegal too.

i agree with you in this situation where we have drivers who drive the speed limit on the far left lane. even for me, i dont really like drivers who drives the speed limit on the left lane, since it can disrupt the flow of traffic. there are drivers who are nice and courteous enough to move to the slower lane and let the faster driver pass, and some who are too stubborn, and want people behind them to abide the speed they are going.im due for traffic school...ONLINE OR GO IN PERSON? However, it is not going to solve anything if you follow the slow moving driver very close; its just going to aggrevate them. not only will it make them very angry, but it can also enable them to do some dangerous stunts as well, like slaming on their brakes on purpose.

if the driver in front of you is not willing to change lane, just let it be, and keep an adequate distance behind them and wait for an open lane to pass that driver. it is better to drive DEFENSIVELY than to take vengance toward that driver.

Actually, there was a case in Canada app. two years ago of two friends in two separate cars who deliberately drove the speed limit down two lanes of our biggest 3 lane highway(401). They were doing it to make a point but were pulled over by the police and charged with obstructing traffic and dangerous driving.I agree there is no reason to sit doing the speed limit in the passing lane. Show some consideration for us speed bugs!!
