Question:
Is there a place on the net that i can work out how much money i need for fuel for a certain journey?? Eg a fuel calculator - where you put in your car cc, the miles your doing and it will tell you how much you need.
Answers:
In this time of energy conservation, why aren't more states creating rail systems?
If you know what you car's mpg is, you can do the math yourself.
If you don't know, shame on you wiyh the prices the way they are these days.
Fill your tank and drive it for a day or two. Then refill the tank. Take the miles driven and divide by gallons replaced, that will give you a close figure on which base you trips consumption. As a footnote...use the same service station and IF they have auto stop levelers, us them. Otherwise, hold the handle down until it shuts off and STOP. Don't try to put more in, this will ensure the same level of full.
Base you cost on the national average for fuel, currently $2.37 per gallon. Multiple that by gallon to be used (include a 'guess-tamate' for additional running around).
Example based on a 2004 Saturn:
1500 mi round trip
MPG is 25.3
$2.37 per gallon
59.29 gallon used
Fuel cost $140.52
How can I get a list of communte times for new jersey?
I would include at least 300 more miles (approx 20%) for sightseeing, or whatever you haven't planned for in additional vehicle usage.
You'll never get an exact $$ number without knowing the price of fuel on your route, urban miles versus highway miles, etc. But it is easy to figure out an average.
Do you think the traffic will be bad to travel from Pennsylvania to Maryland tomorrow? THANKS?
Just use a 25 mpg average for a passenger car and whatever price you pay per gallon at your local garage. MapQuest or AAA will give you trip distances. Divide trip distance by 25, multiply by fuel price at the pumps and you'll have a reasonable estimate.
