It takes a bit. But, you'll become more and more comfortable with experience and realize that it's not always that scary. It'll definitly depend on you as to the time period. Keep in mind that the more you practice (although you might groan at this) the more comfortable you will get. Offer to drive parents or friends places close to your house to get more experience.I got into my first accident 8 days after I got my license, and then on day 13 (or something like that) I got pulled over for a faulty tail light. Then a couple weeks after that I might have minorly dented another car. After that I was good to go. I am not nervous anymore, nor have I had any problems since.

Thats a good question i would say its different for everyone because i was really nervous at first. Honestly i never really got over it. For some reason i feel safer when an adult is driving. My friend was comfortable driving almost right away. But i would say that it depends how much you drive. When i started to drive regularly my fear started to go away. So a month it was alot better two months i was still a bit shaky, and at three months i was realy comfortable. I find it depends also on the var because i was drivng a huge truck for a while and that made me sooo nervous because i couldn't see anything. I'm still nervous driving my sports car because its soo touchy and small. But i have like a regular all american car and that is really easy to drive with no problem. So id say 3 months in a basic car. But it is good to be a bit nervous , you don't want that to go away completely because their is so many hazzards on the road especially in the winter. And you gotta watch out for those Coppers : @how far does your car travel when changing a cd?

Basically the more you drive, roads, highways, the better you'll feel. Try to keep passengers at a minimum because you'll always have that one nervous bugger that will say silly things, do silly things and in the end make you feel nervous.

For me, one year. But when you have accidents, dents, scratches on the vehicle, you will learn faster. If you have tickets, parking tickets, fix-it tickets, you will learn a lot faster than you would deem impossible. That is a reality of driving a car.More Questions & Answers ...
