IN AUSTRALIA, NSW, Can a speed camera catch you if you're on the other side of the road?

If a speed camera is on one side of the road, it catches you if you speed past it on THAT side of the road. But can it catch you if you speed apst it on the OPPOSITE side of the road as wella s the side the camera is situated?

if you mean coming towards it rather than going past it then yes,i got caught this way driving from pt douglas to cairns,i know this is q.l.d but im sure the n.s.w cameras operate in the same way-i could even see my little face in the photo.
