There are a bunch of accidents on those days. You just may not be hearing about them. A lot of people got their drivers license through DE, and never really experienced hazardous conditions. Do you ever see anyone learning how to drive during a snow storm?. Without experience, you really don't know what to do, or expect. There are a lot of SUVs, and full time 4 wheel drive vehicles out there, and the drivers have a false sense of security. Keep thinking the way you do, and you're going to be a great driver.In NY they post "No honking zone" signs.?
I find the complete opposite to be true, well at least in WA. They drive like 10 or 15 below the speed limit and that's when its drizzling, so I don't know. But its really the first rain after dry days that are the most dangerous because the oils from the cars come up and make the roads quite slick. But for those who speed, well are they speeding or just not going as slow as you? They could be just doing the speed limit still.How long would it take to create a national interstate system?
After the rain has had a chance to wash off all the oils and oily crud which can make the car slip around, it's okay to drive fast. Traction's better!...Has anyone given driving license test in Aurora IL or atleast in IL?
Except for those darn long puddles which can be really bad for medical bills after the wreck, then those darn insurance premiums go up, and the costs of a new car, too, driving insanely fast on rainy days is fun! It's best with poor wipers and bald tires, but sometimes it's tough to find really GOOD, and new bald tires.
so they hurry to get where they can before they get into an accident. but really you have more of a chance to get into an accident when you drive faster, so there is no point. drive slow and safe, not fast and dangerous.

People lose all common sense when it comes to weather & driving. Their lives are so full of junk, appointments, & stuff that they don't leave any room for unforeseen problems. They forget that water brings up grease, oil, & other stuff out of the pavement, so if they hit the right spot, they end up in places where they don't want to go. Then, they slow everyone else down & cause havoc.What are some traffic violations?
I try to leave early enough that I'm not in a hurry, so if I get lost or stuck in traffic, I have enough time to make my appointments.
