Yes, pressure from other drivers is always around. Especially here in Colorado when it snows. They drive like looney tunes around here, like they are proving a point."I ain't scared of no snow or ice, I am a road warrior".........or " I ain't scared of nothing, cuz I have four wheel drive". Frankly, I don't give a whoo whoo what your theories are on the road, I drive the way I feel comfortable and safe, because guess what, I not only have the responsibility to my self and those in my car, but also to the other drivers out there!!Should I go through with it or not?

Well, I tell you what: do not pay attention to people "riding your butt". Whatever they do, mind your own business. It doesn't mean that you have to go 20mph in 50 zone, but do not let them make you do things. You nervous and it is not very good. The guy behind you must take care of himself. No. And you know why? Because if they hit my car because they were tailgating, it's automatically their fault. Also, if someone is following me too close, I slow down to like 30 miles an hour, and try to get them stuck behind a car or truck at a stopsign. If the road is really bad and has salt or cinders or dirt on it, I drive over that, which gets kicked up onto THEIR windshield. That usually makes them back off. I did that the other day and kept running over cinders in the middle of the road, it worked!Is there a phone number to report dangerous driving?
PLUS, if I get in an accident by speeding, they'll keep going. I just slow down or kick stuff up. Or jam on your brakes. That makes some people back off.

If I see one of these jerks in the mirror, I have a bad habit of closing ranks on the person in front of me. Not tailgating but not as open a distance as I would normally perfer. After they go away, I open the gap again.

Yeah, I do feel pressure, but don't give in. Just because others drive recklessly doesn't mean that you should have to feel pressured to give into what they want. Be concious of your driving and obey the laws and you'll be fine. If they hit you, it's their fault, but by keeping calm and driving safely, you will be saving yourself a lot of trouble and you may even save another driving an accident or traffic violation.not really..everywhile you get some idiot that tailgates..
No. You and I have every right to abide by our traffic laws. The other driver can make a choice to do the same, pass me if they don't like it, or throw a tantrum in ther seat. If I am caught taking a stupid risk (and getting a ticket or causing an accident), saying another driver made me do it will not - repeat, WILL NOT stand up in traffic court.

When I was a kid I was driving from Ketchum Idaho to Glacier National Park going up US 93 .I grew up in NYC and didn't know anything about driving on high-speed 2 lane mountain roads. This loaded logging truck got on my tail so close that I couldn't see his license plates and he stayed there There was no where to stop and no where to get off the road. So I drove a road I had never been on a whole lot faster than I ever thought I could.
When I sold the car I didn't bother to tell the person I sold it to about the brown stains in the drivers seat.
