Should I drive to Long Island from New Paltz?

Question:
I have a 1995 Saturn SL2 with about 132000 miles on it. I am driving from SUNY Purchase (about 75 miles) to New Paltz to pick up my boyfriend. Then driving back to Long Island from New Paltz (119 miles). That is a total of 194 miles. My car is in ok condition, I change the oil regularly and all that. But I drive long distances in it a lot. Is this wise? Should I not bother?

Answers:

DO you think we'll see gas at 2.09 per gallon anytime soon?

If it makes you feel any better I'm soon going to be driving about 700 miles roundtip to see my boyfriend in a 1996 Saturn SL2 with the same mileage you have on your car.

When traveling at 25 to 30 mph, looking 12 to 15 seconds ahead translates into about half a block.?
