California carpool violation?

Question:
I recently got pulled over for driving in the carpool lane during peak hours in California. I understand the new laws state that the minimum fine as of January 1st, 2007 is $1000.

When you are driving a car, are you conscious of a point of the compass (East, West, North, South)?

I have to appear in court pretty soon as is standard procedure for this violation. Is there a way I can fight it or take traffic school to avoid paying the hefty fees?

Answers:

On California carpool lanes what does" HOV" stand for?

Traffic School no longer makes the fine go away. So, if you select traffic school, you will have to pay the $1G fine PLUS fees for Traffic School.

Which is better ,commuting by rail from suburbs or being the city proper?

Can you fight it? I dont know - are you guilty? If so, then you have no ground upon which to fight the citation. Was the freeway crowded while you were in the lane? Was there a slow moving vehicle that refused to move over, causing you to pass it in the HOV lane? Or, was it only a matter of one or two minutes until the peak hours was over? These excuses MIGHT get you off - but it is highly doubtful.

Have you ever riden on greyhound??

Best bet is to go to court, admit your guilt, and tell the judge that you cannot possibly afford such a heavy fine. If he INSISTS on the full fine, you can request community service in its place.

I would like to ship clothing over seas. I would like a non expensive shipment method. Have you got any ideas?

In the future, avoid the carpool lane - it is the biggest generator of easy money the CHP has... And, pre-paid legal is the biggest scam that lawyers have on their side.

If you had Pre-Paid Legal, you wouldn't have to worry about this violation. Look into it.

Does anybody know if there is any mass transit from Stamford to Tarrytown?

You knew the risks...You can't drive in the carpool lane if you are the only one in the car -period. You can go to court and beg for mercy but I suspect they'll throw the book at you.

Which uses more gas? Accelorating to 65 MPH and coasting to a stop, or maintaining 40 MPH?

You're done. If you fight it, you usually can't get traffic school. If you did it, and you got caught, what's your strategy to win? If you have no tickets, maybe they'll give you traffic school, but you still end up paying the fine and you now have to pay for traffic school.
The benefit of TSchool, is insurance may not go up and you don't get points against your license.

Is it wrong to covertly spray people on their way to work on the bus/train with alcohol?

You're guilty.

Ah..hurry please answer!!?

Traffic school will only keep your ins co from finding out and raising your rates. You STILL have to pay all the fine, AND t/s fees.
