Is there traffic lights on highway 138?

I am traveleing to LA. I want use 138 to get to highway 15. I want to avoid traveling through the LA basin. Is this a good alternative as I will be hitting LA around 5-6:00PM on a friday. I dont want to get stuck in traffic.

Highway 138 is still closed through Cajon Pass. You'll have to pick up the I-15 in Victorville, which adds some miles to the trip.
Yes, they are widening the road near Pearblossom and Littlerock, and putting in some lights. Also, through those towns, you have to slow to 35 MPH, but that's about it.

This is a very good route to take, there are a few lights however they are right near Lancaster, but other than that you have nothing to worry about unless they are still doing construction. That is still no big deal because the detour is not bad. Hope this helps :-}
