Question:
I was visiting Brisbane last week(I'm from the country) and was surprised to see everyone refusing to sit and stand next to others on trains, buses and at there stations.
Eg: On a train, one person to each double seat, everybody else stood. Nobody would even look at each other.
What are you lot so scared of?

How to take a bus from Culver City, CA to Riverside, CA?
Haha Lion...I grew up in Brissy but now live in Toowoomba........I noticed when I was there last weekend that that is the case......It is so much more of a rushed lifestyle.....they don't really have time......and maybe also because they live in such a cramped city they decide to take the space they can, when it is available......Not sure!!Good question though....
It's not a matter of being scared, it's a matter of not wanting to sit next to the stinky guy with the sweat stains on the armpits of his shirt after a long day. I'd rather stand thanks!
Well, it probably is their culture. LMAO !
how to improve public transportation system?
if you lived in a city of 1.5 million ppl, you would understand.Everybody is too busy to want to get involved in conversations with any one else. And yeah, I don't want to sit next to Mr Flatulence or Mrs Body Odour.
Those seats are quite small as well and I would rather stretch out then sit cramped for an hour on the train
