The guy's a nightmare.The charge is the worst thing that he could do.
It is just another tax on the motorist.Traffic may have decreased in the zone but businesses in the zone are suffering terribly.The traffic around the zone is terrible.
I really hope he gets voted out but the next mayor wont scrap the charge 'cos of the amount of money it raises.

As it was his idea, I expect he is fully aware of the misery etc. that it causes people. That was the idea, he hoped to keep people out of London with their cars,so that congestion would be a thing of the past, but of course it hasn`t worked out that way. It has just made a lot of motorists very angry.What is something you can do on a bus for 8 hours besides read, sleep, and listen to music?

Distress and misery to who exactly? It certainly isn't causing distress and misery to me, since London is a lot more pleasant with less traffic - and it certainly isn't causing distress and misery to bus passengers who are now enjoying less delays and a more frequent and reliable service. I will point out that people are not banned from driving in London - but they do have to pay a charge to compensate everyone else for the congestion they cause. If payiing £8 per day (0700-1800 Monday-Friday only) in relation to the general cost of motoring and parking, is causing 'distress and misery' I would suggest they cannot afford to use a car and should be using public transport like the vast majority of sensible and socially responsible citizens. Please, less wailing and whining from selfish and arrogant motorists. I've put up with them turning London into a traffic jam/car park for most of my life and now it's their turn to put up with a little inconvenience and cost. Thank you Ken. He is the only politician we have that takes tough decisions on tough problems, often taking decisions that will make him unpopular simply because he believes it is the right thing to do.

Most politicians we have in the UK seem more concerned with being popular than doing the right thing. They exist simply to serve their own selfish ends and shy away from difficult decisions as they know the electorate will vote them out next time round.

Doing nothing on congestion is simply not an option. London is unable to cope with the volume of traffic on it's roads so what is the solution? Whatever the answer it would always be painful. People simply have to learn to live without their cars.
If we had more honest politicians like Ken Livingstone this country would be a better place.
