I don't know where you live, but if you have a landmark that is fairly visible most days, find out what direction it is in relationship to your house. North is at the top of a compass, East is right, south is down and west is left. N E S W, Never Eat Sour Watermelon. In my town the mountains are west of my place, so anything going the other way is east....I know too much at once. You'll get it, but a reference point really helps.
