SLUGGING? from woodbridge to dc (14th st)?

i just got a new job in dc and i start monday..anyone from the area that uses this system can tell me a lil more about it.i dont wanna be caught in that traffic..(only respond if you know what im talkin about.) thanks!

When are you sopposed to drive with a permit?

You basically drive to a park and ride lot and look for the "slug" line where you name your destination (e.g. Pentagon, Smithsonian, etc.) and the time that you leave work (6 PM). If a car is going that way, you get in the car with them. You can offer to share gas or make other arrangements or stay silent as the driver commutes to the destination. The reverse is true - you can stick with the same driver or find another slug line with people heading back to the starting point.
