Question:
Just wondering why so many 'governers' to check tickets and yet the driver has to tend to the road/passengers/money/etc., alone. Our police should ride on transport to make people feel more secure and man the communities (when they return) and inspectors should do the job for themselves surely. I am not knocking the police at all but they could be doing more foot work so to speak of there areas.
Answers:
Any one from NYC? I need driving directions?
my brother is a bus driver in London and he tells me the reason why the police are there is because the inspectors can not stop you leaving the bus but the police can i dont why so many inspectors but he say,s some of the buses he drives have more than one door so they put checkies on each doorWhy are they cutting down trees that are growing by the edge of the M4 Junction 32-28?
Yes, what a joke! Same with train stations - why does it take in excess of 15 staff and police to check tickets when they cannot just man each station individually and install barriers? (Making stations a lot safer)Over the hills and far, far, far away...?
I call British Transport Police - private profiteers revenue police
How do you drive? i have forgotten.?
People who dodge fares tend to be dodgy characters all round. The police may be interested in them for other reasons (carrying drugs, weapons, stolen goods etc). Therefore a ticket check can be productive for the police. Anyway, would you want to check tickets on a bus in an 'inner city' environment on your own? It's easier for the driver. He's normally sitting behind an assault screen with an alarm and radio back-up.Damn, and I thought New York subways had too many cops in them! Here in NYC, they only have one person on the bus, the Bus Operator, and he/she has you put your metrocard in the farebox to pay the fares. On the subways, in the stations that still have staffed token booths, you can buy a metrocard from the Station Agent, otherwise you have to use the metrocard vending machine. In either case, you simply slide the metrocard in the slot on the turnstyle, and it lets you enter the station.
07 mustang 19 mpg good or bad?
We do have a lot of cops, some doing "random" bag searches (that is, they'll have 3 cops and a table and they "randomly" stop people who "look Arab" to check their bags for bombs) some standing in the corner in plainclothes waiting to arrest farebeaters (because we all know that skipping a $ 2 dollar subway fair is a major capital crime!!) and some just standing there in bunches of 2 or 3.
