Does anyone believe that all the redlight cameras citys are putting up to generate revenue?

Question:
could cause large traffic jams or could we delibertly cause large traffic jams on purpos to protest...i believe we could if everyone formed a coo

Answers:

How much driving experience do you need before you make a long drive?

The primary reason is for safety, since so many idiots run red lights. Once people start getting tickets for it, it may help.

Did it take you a long time to get home today?

On the other hand, a number of city officials have been getting caught taking bribes from the companies bidding on the cameras, to get theirs installed over a competitor! So, I guess that is generating revenue for someone!

Hey Ohio Drivers......?

they do help generate revenue,,but they also give insurance company's an extra advantage if you get in an accident, also,,i think they will be used for more than just tickets in the future,,good luck, hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

what do you do on your drive to work?

Generates revenue, yes. It also deters red-light runners, and keeps me from killing the loser that intentionally runs a redlight and hits me while I have my kids in the truck.

who do i contact to get a rd sign.to slow down children at play?

They have very little to do with safety, it's all about revenue. Here where I live it was discovered that the city reduced the times of the yellow lights to increase revenue. Also cameras have been placed at the most BUSY intersections, not at the most dangerous intersections. Read your city reports on traffic and I'm fairly sure it will reflect the same

is it strange to not know how to drive at 28 years old?

You are misguided. Deliberate traffic jams only tick off those who are late for work, to pick up their kids, or those who are sick or injured being transported to hospital by ambulance. Red light cameras cause tickets to be issued to those who are pathetic enough behind the wheel they drive through red lights, endangering the lives and property of others. You want to protest a device that nails them? The revenue generated is voluntary tax revenue. When I worked downtown, I parked a few blocks from work. Every morning and every afternoon, at every crosswalk, I had to dodge red light runners. Some of them sped up to go through the red, ending up stopped in the middle of the crosswalk on the other side of the intersection, forcing pedestrians to try and get around them without being killed by other vehicles. I vote for second offences dealt with by laser cannon, not pictures. We actually had a motorist call the police to tell them he couldn't afford more tickets (all from the same downtown intersection), so please don't send any more. When asked why he just didn't stop for the red, he said he didn't have time, he had places to be. There is no defence for dolts like that.

Ladies would you rather have a corvette or a dodge viper.?

One area I live near put in the cameras and then changed all the traffic lights so you hit each when when it turns red and I've seen the green light stay on for a whole 3 seconds. You tell me what those cameras are really for. It's all about money. Luckily, I don't use that road anymore. Traffic can't even move through there at a normal pace. Many towns are all doing the same thing in the area. Only real way to fight back is to cover up your license plate. Would you rather be ticketed for that or running a red light?
