Does anyone know about any rideshare programs in Seattle?

Question:
In Europe there are websites you can go to and type in a location you are going to and look and see if someone else is going there. You split the cost of fuel with them and everyone is happy. I don't want a regular carpool group just when ever I'm going somewhere I can maybe jump in with them. Ever heard of this pratice?

or try calling your metropolitan transportation organization (Puget Sound Regional Council)...they will definitely have a ridesharing program, and although it might be only for regular commuters, they will be able to direct you to something like that if it exists.
