Traffic times etc... for Nashville?

Question:
The day after Christmas I am planning to head to Nashville International Airport. I will be coming in east on I 40 and plan to get on 440 and by pass Nashville to get to the airport. When will be the best time to travel this area? I'm looking to go through with the least amount of traffic.

Answers:

New job: I will be compensated for mileage driven daily. What is a fair rate to ask for (per mile/km) ?

Your bypassing downtown may be a good idea, but it's a slightly more complicated than you think.

Tickets of most airlines can be purchased at a heavy discount, If they are purchased much in advance online ie

Look at a map. I-440 ends at I-24. Meaning that you will have to take I-24 westbound (that's what they call it on the freeway signs even though it's actually going north) for a very short jog to I-40 eastbound again to the airport. So just be aware of that, and pay close attention to the freeway signs.

Why do some people place obituaries on the rear window of their cars?

4pm to 6pm is the heaviest times for the freeways around here, I-40 eastbound around the airport gets heavy during this period, with everyone trying to get out of the downtown area and back home into the suburbs.

Why does the HOV lane symbol on the I-5 near Seattle changes from 2+ people to just 2?

As for what the last person said about not much traffic the day after Christmas, I'm not so sure about that. Christmas falls on a Monday this year (I think). Meaning most people will be heading back to work on Tuesday (That is unless your lucky enough to be a high ranking white collar worker, in which case they'll have the entire week off). Also, keep in mind that the day after Christmas is when all the holiday returns are brought back to the malls and such. So increased traffic definitely could be a factor throughout the day.

How far do you commute?

So leave early, and leave sufficient driving time for bad weather, potentially heavy traffic, and missed freeway exits (all the freeway splits your going to encounter).

When are you considered lost while driving?

And lets not forget airport parking lot jams (since everyone will be flying home the day after Christmas), and those pesky security checkpoint lines.

dodgy driving!!?

Leave early. Very, very, early.

What were the highlights of america's transportation revolution?

Good luck and God bless.

how many speed cameras are there in the uk?

Many businesses will still be closed so none of your usual traffic delays should occur. The day after Christmas should see sporadic traffic later in the morning and into the afternoon, but nothing that will cause major problems or slow-downs.
