why do u drive in a parkway and park in a driveway??

Because the highway was designed by people who do not have drivers licenses. Highway engineers do all sorts of stupid things, like merge four lanes down to two right after an entrance ramp. Stupid highway design is endemic, and it has got to do with people who know nothing about traffic flow and they never seem to learn.
