The train (First Capital Connect)Basically get the free bus to Luton Airport Parkway train station. They get on the train (they are about every 15 minutes). You then arrive at Gatwick Airport. Up the stairs / escalators / lift and a short walk across puts you at Gatwick Airport South Terminal.

It's best by train - £19.20 for a single from Gatwick to Luton, direct, takes just over an hour.By coach - Flight's Coaches (now run by National Express) - takes about 2 hours 30 direct, or 3 hours 30 with a stop, and costs just over £20.
