I'm planning a roadtrip to Wisconsin for the holidays. I will be driving on I-90 through Chicago. One of my friends told me that Chicago traffic is bumper-to-bumper at 80-90MPH...Is that true? If it is, how do you drive like that if you're not used to it?

Depending on the time of day , it moves very good or it is a parking lot. The closer to the city you are the worse the traffic. As for how to drive in this type of traffic if your not used to it. Please for the sake of everyone, stay in the right lane.Stuck in traffic & have to go to the bathroom - what would you do?
Go with the flow and watch out for the open road tolling if you miss a toll booth ask for the form at then next one to pay. and bring a lot of quarters.how does someone actually get a ticket on the freeway? i dont get it?

it depends on which part of 90...I know once you pass Barrington or Elgin on the Northwest Tollway its empty...but on the Kennedy leaving Chicago its a freaking parking lot...and its like that until you pass OHare...totally ridiculous....the best time to drive anywhere in Chicago is either after 9PM or before 4AM...What are the the black cables places on highway asphalt used for?
I find it better to go through Chicago after midnight. Not alot of traffic and it makes it easier to get through without having to speed.Omg it's total bumper cars. What the poster said about the cabs ,just watchem because they will cut you off.I never want to drive through there again.
