Question:
Overpopulation of several species, such as raccoon, and opossum, in recent years has resulted in proportional increases in road kill tonnage on Montana highways. Because these animals grow rather big, some weigh in at 15 lbs (By Staff -- Design News, July 20, 1998).
Would a run-in with them on the road damage a vehicle or even cause a driver to lose control?
I'm lookging for a gps monitoring system to track my kids driving speed?

Commuting in London by moped/scooter?
It depends on where this alleged 15 lb. critter strikes the car. If it is tall enough to have an impact with the bumper, you definately will hear the thump and the vibration of the car for a split second. Where it hits will determine what damage will occur so that is really a variable that changed with each animal, the speed you are going at the point of impact, and exactly how it hits the car.How do you number the Freeway lanes?
Deer are the biggest problem here in IL. They are everywhere and create a hazard for drivers here yearround. There hardly a day goes by that a deer doesn't get whacked nearby. It is so common that it is the norm here. Sad but true.
How long does it take for traffic stoplights to change from red to green and back again?
Should drivers swerve to avoid the remains? Well, sure, all of us will try to, if for nothing else, to keep the mess off our cars. Larger animals like the deer create a real hazard to motorists because they can total a car or small truck.
Big trucks because of their size, don't have to worry about running over them.
AWhat would you do if a Greyhound bus emptied its toilets on your car?
I think its the fact that there are more people on the roads.. I was recently in Michigan and saw way more road kill than I do here In Canada.. of course I also noted far fewer wild life areas.. and a great deal more traffic...and obviously some of those animals had been out for days..here we have officers that remove any road kill
also in the parks we have wild life over passes..
but basically to blame wild life overpopulation is crap.. its HUMAN overpopulation that is the problem.. too many cars.. and too much habitat destruction
do you drive on interstate highways?
I beleive in many areas if safe the driver is supposed to remove the road kill to the side of the road or call it in to the county and they remove it..
