You can try to take it to trial and hope the police officer that pulled you over is a no show to the trial. Then all the charges would have to be dismissed.

Is it possible to get from San Francisco to Novato through the Bay Ferry?

The basic speed law states...NOT TO DRIVE FASTER THAN WHAT IS SAFE. Read your ticket and see what the cop wrote down as far as visibility, light or heavy traffic etc. Basic speed law is your only option if all other conditions were favorable.

Why is the Segway called a segway?

If the officer was mistaken about about what the actual speed limit was, then he could have been mistaken about how fast you were traveling. This does not rule out the fact that you were speeding, but it does cast a shadow of a doubt. If you can point out that; the amount you were supposed to have been going, just happens to be 16 mph. over the limit, and the officer was after a stiffer penalty, rather than the fact the speed limit was 35 instead of 20 where he thinks you were speeding. I would establish before hand "exactally" where he was at, when he used his radar to determine your speed. Then I would establish where you were "supposed" to been when he used his radar. This is critical to your case, because you must get him to testify his exact location, your exact location, and then establish if he knows the speed limit in the location you were supposed to have been speeding. My point is; you have to not leave any hole for him to wiggle out of. You must make him testify to a lie, and then you must prove it to be a lie. You will need photographs to back up your case, and if possible a wittness that lives in the area to testify to the speed limit. Remember, they do this everyday, and in order for you to beat this case, all you have to do is prove he has told one lie, and you will be off the hook. They are going to offer you a reduced sentence to plead guilty, but don't take it. I know what I'm talking about, because I just beat a speeding ticket in court because where the officer said he got me, and where he said he was at when he used his radar didn't add up. I proved in court that he would have had to traveled at more than 120 mph to catch a vehicle in that short of a distance at the speed he testified I was traveling. I showed pictures of where he testified he was at, the road that he would have traveled to catch up with me, and the spot he stopped me. My attorney made a fool out of this guy. He used math to prove the cop didn't do what he testified he did, and that it was impossible for him to have caught up with me in that short of a distance, or I just simply wasn't going the speed he testified I was. I ended up paying an attorney, but I never got any points, and I had much rather gave money to an attorney than those crooked SOB's.
You can beat a speeding ticket, but you have to be smarter than them, and above all, don't let them intimidate you, or talk you into pleading guilty to a lesser charge. If they see you are ready to fight it, they will not want to pay for a jury, and go through an all day court battle just over a speeding citation. If they see they are going to get a fight, they will back down 9 out of 10 times.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!

If you can prove that you are NOT the person ticketed AND not even own the car that was ticketed (i.e. the officer wrote Chevrolet, you actually drive a Toyota) THEN you may have a chance.

As is, if you can PROVE it's a 35 mile zone, you'll get your fine reduced, but you were speeding, and that point stays.
